Hey crazies! This week we will spend our time asking, "Do we know what the gospel is?" Sadly, many people today are confused about the gospel- many of them Christians. Check out John Piper's thoughts below...

Wow. That is really very powerful. Alot of people do just accept Christ for all the wonderful things he is--but then what? We certainly can't keep him to ourselves "sit on him" so to speak...like the video says.
When he said that's what he was afraid the church was full of these days, my heart sunk. :( How unfortunately true it may be.
Ouch. I very much believe that Piper has hit the nail on the head: even true believers cannot but fail to comprehend God's infinite value and worth. How much more so those who are only seeking to serve self! As we seek to be in the world while living other-worldly lives, I fear that many of us even as churchgoers have fallen into our cultural trap of self-worship. I thank the Lord for shocking exhortations like these - we definitely need to test ourselves, as Piper says in the video.
yeah, i will be the first to admit that i am usually probably one of those people... Not take God for granted is a problem i think that all christians struggle with. Let's do our best to avoid seeing Christ as a ticket. And a tattered one at that!
I agree with John Piper that most Christians treat God like a tattered ticket to Heaven. However, those Christians are totally misguided because Christianity has everything to with a revamped lifestyle and perspective. No one can serve two masters, God and the world too. God gives the most purpose and contentment anyway.
